END OF THE YEAR IS NIGH
December 01
First image of
Joan of Arc, the third project I am doing with Tony Lee for our Heroes and Heroines series from
Walker Books. Hamlet launch in
São Paulo on the 10th. Plus, advertising storyboards and
illustrations.
Happy Holidays to all!
WORK
September 06
Coldest City all done and sent.
To be launched this month: Mozart's Magic Flute,
done with the same team as Hamlet, and
MSP
novos 50, with a 4-page story I did using
Mauricio de Souza's characters.
Also: a comic strip for Kaya,
on Bruno Luupe's blog
(English version here), and I did the art
for this year's invitation of Brazil's national comic trophy event
HQMix,
that will happen on the 16th.
TRAVELS
June 01
I did the illustration for the cover of this week's issue of Veja,
about the Air France tragedy of a couple of years ago.
I'll be in Rio de Janeiro on the 16th for a workshop at FNLRJ
about Robin Hood, and the Brazilian launch of the graphic novel.
And on the 17th the launch and autographs of the adaptation of Hamlet
I did with Juliano Oliveira and Tarsis Cruz.
At the end of the month I'll be giving a talk at the CCJ here in São Paulo
with colorist and illustrator Alexandre Jubran,
one of the very first people I ever worked with, about digital comic art and the international market.
TIME STOPS FOR NO ONE
April 20 2011
Very irregular updates for 2010 and 2011. Let's see if I manage to sort that out by the end of the year.
Illustrations for last week's Veja, about the school massacre
in Rio de Janeiro. Plenty of Storyboards. Last batch of Coldest City inks being done.
Excalibur: The Legend of King Arthur
has been in bookstores for a month, and a now sketching for the
next project
with Tony Lee.
Kaya
is 1 year and 1 month old today. Thinking of writing a couple of children's stories…
WOW
November 09
And I thought my life was chaotic before. Kaya
is now 7 ½ months old, with two teeth and plenty of wide-eyed curiosity.
Inking Coldest City. Drawing newspaper and magazine illustrations,
updated website's illustration gallery. Put up an
art blog, for sketches and paintings.
Doing advertising storyboards.
HQMix 2010 was a great show.
A couple of my illustrations are now back in print due to a oversized War collection.
And I will be giving a workshop at the
Rio Comicon next week.
A NEW LIFE
May 28
King Arthur colours all done and sent.
Cold City pencils started.
Classes at Quanta every Monday and Wednesday evening.
Twittering occasionally @samhart73
… And nappies, lots and lots of nappies.
APRIL, ALREADY?
April 20 2010
Time sure flies when you're having fun - and changing nappies every couple of hours.
Kaya Paiva Hart was born March 20th, and today she is one very cute month old.
All 144 pages of inks for King Arthur
are finished, colours are well on their way, and I'm gearing up for the next couple of months on my next project,
Cold City,
with Antony Johnston.
